This resource is a fun and engaging way to surprise your students with a mix of activities within one game. This activity works best if students are familiar with the rest of my resources so if you’re looking for a good activity to use in class, to be honest I would recommend one of my other resources. This mash-up activity works perfectly to engage and delight students, is easy to use and customizable quiz as a REVIEW activity, a reward activity, a BACK TO SCHOOL (or END OF TERM) treat or just an exciting way to practice questions on a topic / evaluate students’ ability. This quiz game is ideal for use in ONLINE or DISTANCE LEARNING classes and will keep students engaged and guessing what will happen next from start to finish! I made the activity as an end of year treat for my class, and used the excuse that my PowerPoint activities were merging together after my laptop was struck by lightning! Not sure if they believed me, but it was certainly a memorable lesson and the students absolutely loved the activity! As it is a mash-up of my other resources the questions are presented in a broad range of ways which makes it perfect as a review activity for a variety of skills. Engage and delight students with this easy to use and customisable quiz that works perfectly as a REVIEW activity, a reward activity, a BACK TO SCHOOL (or END OF TERM) treat or just an exciting way to practice questions on a topic / evaluate students’ ability. This quiz game is ideal for use in ONLINE or DISTANCE LEARNING classes and will keep students engaged from start to finish. This v1.4 version includes 2 different prize variants of the game to keep the activity fresh as well as some improvements to the instructions for each stage and more visual cues to help mange the game in large classes or online / distance learning scenarios. The activity sends the whole class on an exciting journey from getting an invitation letter to Hogwarts, to Diagon Alley, being sorted into their Hogwarts Houses, meeting classmates and professors and finally (hopefully) saving Hogwarts! All questions are timed with either 30-second or 1-minute timers, and are easily edited. Full instructions are provided at every step of the activity and it has full audio and visual feedback. As students move through the stages of the game they explore locations and maps from the series and choose characters from the books. At that character’s desk they are given a question, if they answer correctly they find out what they’ve won, including objects that can help them in their life at Hogwarts or points for their Hogwarts House. Teams are encouraged to collaborate on different decisions when faced with some unexpected foes and the activity has been designed to give a different experience each time it is played.
